Jeremy Siliato – Miami University 2020

Many of our employees learned about Arrive during their time in college. We sat down with Jeremy Siliato, Business Development Representative, to learn more about how he found Arrive while at Miami University and the advice he has for soon-to-be college graduates and those thinking about a career in logistics and sales.

Where did you go to school and how did you first hear about Arrive?

I went to Miami University and earned my degree in finance. I first heard about Arrive through the Handshake platform, where I received a few messages sharing that Arrive was going to be at my school’s career fair. I watched a few videos on the Arrive website, and it seemed like an up-and-coming company with an attractive workplace culture. I met with Hannah Perron from our recruiting team at the career fair where she told me about the application process. From there, I applied online and later accepted a position. Following the summer after I graduated, I officially started at Arrive in September on the Business Development side.

How did you become interested in supply chain and sales?

Although I majored in finance, I was never necessarily looking to pursue a finance career right out of school. However, I was glad to have gained knowledge on how to manage my money long term. I took a few supply chain classes at Miami for my degree, and I always enjoyed them. I knew I wanted a sales job where I was able to talk to people on the phone every day and work with my own customers. I also knew I wanted to be part of a company that was high-energy and fast-paced and that’s exactly what I found at Arrive.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is seeing the energy that everyone at Arrive brings each and every day. I enjoy working with a motivated group of people who are also right out of school and looking to prove themselves and work hard every day. Everyone here is eager to be successful and that energy is seen everywhere.

What keeps you at Arrive?

Arrive is the only brokerage I would ever consider working for. I love everything this company stands for. In a role like mine, a Business Development Representative, you shouldn’t expect to be crazy successful right off the bat while you’re still learning. I already see and hear from more tenured reps that the success will come after a year or two.

Have any advice for soon-to-be college grads?

My advice for soon-to-be college grads is to weigh out all your options. Your decision on what to do after college will play a big role in the next several years of your career, so carefully consider what path you want to be on. Be sure to evaluate your goals and objectives and choose a career path that’s the right fit for you.

For someone about to start a career in logistics, what would you tell them?

You won’t understand all the terminology and in’s and out’s of the business right away, but if you commit everyday and work hard, it will come in time. Anyone can be successful at Arrive if you put in the time and the effort.
