We Deliver Flexibility: Building Connections with Owner Operators and Private Fleets

At Arrive, we make the same promise to every one of our shippers, carriers and employees: “We deliver, so you can.” In practice, that means we invest in their success, drive meaningful results and are committed to cultivating deep professional relationships. 

This commitment is reflected in our newest effort, “We Deliver Flexibility” — a new purpose-driven pilot program which provides a channel for owner-operators and small fleets from our carrier network to connect with private fleets who may have work opportunities. 

We launched the initiative in response to what we’ve observed from the market and heard repeatedly from our team in their conversations with our carrier partners about how deflationary market conditions are impacting owner-operators. Though deflationary periods are a normal part of the freight cycle, this shift has been particularly challenging amid other factors such as historic fuel costs. 

Many owner-operators do not have access to contract freight, and are now searching for partnership opportunities with national fleets or exiting the market entirely. In fact, more carrier authorities have left the market in the last three months than at any other point in the last decade, according to FTR Transportation Intelligence. Meanwhile, private fleets are navigating driver hiring and retention challenges. Given our close relationships with the carriers in our network and private fleets, “We Deliver Flexibility” is an opportunity to make connections and create avenues for our transportation partners to find mutually beneficial partnerships of their own.

We know first hand that making connections is the first step to cultivating valuable partnerships. I am proud of the team for getting creative and leaning in to support our transportation partners simply because we are positioned to do so. We may be the first to create a program like this but we should not be the last. I would invite any transportation and technology company with the data, relationships and interest in building a more connected carrier community to follow suit. Investments into the carrier community enable everyone to win.
