Our Arrive employees come from a variety of outstanding schools across the country. We sat down with Carrier Sales Rep, Ethan Barr, to hear more about his journey from Texas State University to Arrive, and why he loves working in sales and logistics.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I went to Texas State University where I studied Agriculture Business and Management. I minored in German as well.
How did you first hear about Arrive?
I first heard about Arrive from a recruiter on Linkedin who was an old friend! Funny enough, I also heard about Arrive from my uncle who happens to work in the trucking and logistics industry.
How did you become interested in going into sales and logistics?
Seeing the statistics alone of the logistics industry in the last five years made me realize that I knew there was money to be made.
What’s your favorite part of being a Carrier Sales Rep?
My favorite part of being a Carrier Sales Rep is the fast-paced environment I work in and the new relationships I make. You never know who you will meet in the office or over the phone!
What keeps you at Arrive?
What keeps me at Arrive is the ability to see my work be completed from start to finish. It’s crazy you can take someone cross-country with just the click of a button.
Have any advice for soon-to-be college grads?
The logistics industry is booming, and it is an ever-growing industry. If you become part of it now, imagine the opportunities you will see in even six months.
What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned while at Arrive?
Constant communication is key. It is always better to be over-informed than ill-informed just like in any non-work environment situation.
For someone about to start a career in sales and logistics, what would you tell them?
It may be daunting at first, but you have to realize the hardest part is just getting started. Then, it all becomes easy and second nature. You have the power to help ease supply chain issues.
